What is the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS) paper in the KS1 SATs?

The optional GPS papers consist of two papers. Paper 1 is a 20 word spelling test and paper 2 is a grammar, punctuation and vocabulary test in a variety of question styles.
