What are SATS?

SATS are Standard Assessment Tests and are taken at the end of KS1 (Year 2) and KS2 (Year 6). These tests check a child’s educational progress and are carried out by the Standards and Testing Agency in the UK. All children that sit the SATS sit the same papers. The government (and parents) often use these tests to evaluate the quality of education at a school.
