What can I do if my child has a bad day?

When you do hit a rough patch, slow down and do some work together. Work through fewer questions with your child, take it gently and don’t expect to get too much done for a few days. They will appreciate the breather and the attention you are giving them. Above all – try to be patient, praise your child for their effort. Any learning done is a step forward and if your child needs a break from learning for a bit then this is better than your child starting to resent their learning by having to do it when they are not focused.
