ESOL

I am from abroad so don't know about the educational system here? I’m not English but some people are telling me to do an EFL course. Is this the same as an ESL or ESL course. What does ESL and ELF mean? What are the main differences between EFL and ESOL? I have only been in England for 6 months. Should I do English GCSE or ESOL? What is the difference between GCSE English and ESOL?
