Why do we take the 13 plus if we fail the 11 plus?

Some students advance significantly later than the age of 10 where the 11 plus is taken. Especially if your child is a summer baby, the expanse between summer and winter babies has always been a big gap and research shows this is not closing. It is also important that the verbal and non verbal reasoning parts of the test are not fully taught in schools so your child may need more time to work towards these essential skills.
