Are there any special exclusions for not taking the KS2 SATs?

There are a few circumstances that can warrant exclusion from the SATs, these include:

 Bereavement of a family member or close friend within 12 months

 Terminal illness at the time of the test of the pupil or a close family member

 Severe/Permanent injury or illness or major surgery of the pupil or a close family member within 6 months.

 A serious domestic incident within 2 weeks

 A long term major incident within 6 months and still impacting the child.

If you believe you fit an exemption or exclusion you may need to contact your child’s school or test provider if home-schooled.
